Project 1 - The Podcast

An expert on networks is being interviewed on a networking topic.

The interviewer has created quite a challenging interview with some questions which will help IB Computer Science students be successfull in Topic 3.

With your partner, you will plan a script for a podcast on one of the following topics, rehearse the delivery of the podcast and, when ready, record the podcast.

Introduce a network type and discuss who uses it, why they use it and what the advantages and disadvantes of it might be.
Introduce and clearly explain the concept of VPN, what equipment is required to make it happen and how it works, who might use one etc.
Discuss network security and how we can create secure networks which limit the threat of cyberattacks, virus spread etc.
Describe what a packet-switching network is and what the benefits of this kind of network are.
A discussion topic of your choice, agreed with your teacher.

B	The podcast addresses the topic clearly and covers an appropriate range of ideas relating to the IB Topic 3 description in the course guide.	The podcasters have made some effort to ensure the material is presented in a logical, understandable and engaging way.	There is a clear sense that a serious presenter is interviewing a knowledgable expert.	The podcast starts with an introduction clearly explaining what will be covered and who will be speaking.	The mp3 file is not easy to listen to and it is between to 2 and 5 minutes in length.	A script in PDF format is also submitted.
C	The podcast addresses the topic but does not cover enough detail to be useful to an IB student.	The podcasters have made effort to ensure the material is presented in a logical, understandable and engaging way.	There is a vague sense that a serious presenter is interviewing a knowledgable expert.	The podcast starts with an introduction clearly explaining what will be covered and who will be speaking.	The mp3 file is not easy to listen to and it is between to 2 and 5 minutes in length.	An script may not have been submitted.
