Malware is malicious software. It is intended to harm your computer. Some people create malware for fun as part of a community eg hobby hackers.
However, some organisations create malware to disrupt government networks, or to try to get money in a variety of ways.
Some examples of malware are:
- a virus
- a worm
- a trojan
- adware
- spyware
- ransomware
In this unit we will try and figure out what these are and how they work.
We will also look at other techniques to steal personal information (social engineering), disrupt web servers and cause chaos on the Internet!
